Egyptian-American consultations regarding Sudan
Ambassador Hamdi Sanad Loza, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for African Affairs, received today, Monday, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs headquarters in the Administrative Capital, the United States Special Envoy to Sudan, Thomas Perello, accompanied by the United States Ambassador to Cairo, Hero Mustafa Garg. The meeting was attended by Ambassador Hossam Issa, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs, Director of the Department Sudan and South Sudan.
The meeting discussed the recent developments in Sudan, especially in North Darfur, and the need to intensify regional and international efforts to reach an immediate, comprehensive and sustainable ceasefire to spare the blood of the brotherly Sudanese people, to preserve the security and safety of civilians, and to strengthen response efforts. The deteriorating humanitarian situation, and creating the climate for the start of an inclusive political process that responds to the aspirations and hopes of the Sudanese people.
