"UAE Division" Participates in the meeting of the Parliamentary Coordination Committee of the Gulf Legislative Councils

ABU DHABI, 2nd May / WAM / The Parliamentary Division of the Federal National Council participated in the seventeenth virtual meeting of the Parliamentary Coordination and Foreign Relations Committee of the Legislative Councils of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, which was held today, organized by the Qatari Shura Council, and with the participation of members of the Gulf legislative councils and secretaries-general in These councils.

Participating in the meeting from the UAE Parliamentary Division were: Dr. Maryam Obaid Al-Badwawi and Sheikha Saeed Al-Kaabi, members of the Federal National Council, Dr. Omar Abdul Rahman Al-Nuaimi, Secretary-General, and Afra Rashid Al-Basti, Assistant Secretary-General for Parliamentary Liaison in the Council.

The meeting discussed a number of topics related to joint Gulf action, parliamentary coordination between the GCC countries in international parliamentary forums, ways to strengthen cooperation relations and activate meetings between the Gulf legislative councils, and the mechanism for activating cooperation with the parliaments of Latin American and Caribbean countries, and the European Parliament.

Her Excellency Dr. Maryam Al-Beddawi said in an intervention during the meeting that this meeting reflects the efforts made by the Shura Council in the sisterly State of Qatar in following up and implementing the recommendations of the periodic meeting of Their Excellencies the Heads of the Shura, Representatives, National and Nation Councils in the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, to advance joint Gulf action in light of all… The difficult circumstances and challenges that the region is going through.

She pointed out that the agenda of the current meeting is full of many files of cooperation and joint coordination, which reflects the importance of the prominent role played by Gulf parliamentary diplomacy in developing and strengthening the frameworks of foreign parliamentary relations, and building bridges of friendship and cooperation with various parliamentary institutions and organizations.
