This event provides the opportunity for “42 Abu Dhabi” students to submit innovative ideas for new features that contribute to facilitating the journey of users of people of determination and senior citizens, including adding gamification techniques to provide them with knowledge and enhance their experience when using the smart application, which reflects the Ministry of Interior’s commitment to promoting digital innovation and empowerment. Programmers contribute to supporting national efforts towards digital transformation in the UAE.

Dr. Ahmed Sultan Al-Shuaibi, Executive Director of the Higher Education Sector at the Department of Education and Knowledge – Abu Dhabi, said that the effectiveness of the Innovation Hackathon comes to activate the frameworks of understanding between the Department of Education and Knowledge and the Ministry of Interior towards cooperation in innovative projects in the field of software, which is consistent with the department’s commitment to developing the educational system in the field. At the conclusion of the event, which lasted for 3 continuous days, Dr. Ahmed Sultan Al Shuaibi and Lieutenant Colonel Rashid Khalfan Al Kindi honored the students who won the hackathon after evaluating their projects. The first team received a prize of 20 thousand dirhams, while the second team received 15 thousand dirhams, and the third team received 10 thousand dirhams. The winners of the hackathon presented projects that featured advanced technology related to artificial intelligence, machine learning, data training, computer vision, natural language processing, and blockchain technology.

It is noteworthy that the Ministry of Interior had signed a memorandum of understanding with the Department of Education and Knowledge, represented by School 42 Abu Dhabi, last February, with the aim of working on innovative projects in the field of software and joint training cooperation.
