The Office of Innovation Support, Technology Transfer and Marketing at Helwan University held the arbitration session for innovative projects and ideas submitted in the “Helwan Innovates” competition. For the year 2024.

 

The seminar was attended by 18 researchers and innovators from 7 different colleges within the university, namely (Al-Matareya Engineering – College of Science – College of Applied Arts – College of Home Economics – Helwan College of Engineering – College of Physical Education for Girls – College of Fine Arts), where they presented their ideas. And their innovations before the judging committee consisting of members of the Taiko office and technology incubators, in the presence of deans and deans of the participating colleges..

The projects and ideas presented varied to include the fields of solar energy, non-conventional fuels, generating electricity from green hydrogen, converting waste into gas, textiles for soil reclamation, artificial intelligence in designing theater backdrops, smart fabrics, digital transformation of clothing models, electronic mannequins, and application of technology. Augmented reality on skills development, building an electrical circuit manufacturing machine, developing sustainable building units, wastewater treatment, an application dedicated to summer camping, and a program Animation Comprehensive for the purposes of making films and advertisements.

For his part, Dr. Imad Abu Al-Dahab praised the activities of the competition and the role of the Taiko Office in supporting innovation, stressing the recommendation of the Graduate Studies and Research Sector to increase opportunities for financial and technical support for a larger number of innovative projects from the University’s Scientific Research Fund.

At the conclusion of the episode, it was recommended to provide financial support for three to four innovative ideas to build and develop prototypes, in addition to selecting three other ideas for financial and technical support from the Scientific Research Fund, and directing innovators towards entrepreneurship in various fields to serve society and the Egyptian market .
