Continuing the supply of wheat to silos, silos and hangars in the governorates of the Republic

Silos, barns, and hangars in the various governorates of the Republic continued, today, Friday, to receive supplies of the wheat crop, and the Ministry of Supply daily follows up the progress of work in the system of supplying and receiving local wheat, as well as following up with the governors and executive bodies, for the supply work and facilitating all procedures facing farmers and the speed of disbursement. Financial dues to them, considering that wheat is a strategic crop that plays a decisive role in providing the food needs of the population.

In Gharbia Governorate, the Governor, Dr. Tariq Rahmi, announced the supply of 65 thousand tons of wheat crop so far to Shawn, silos and hangars in the governorate, and that the cultivated area amounted to 125,526 acres.

The governor said in a statement today, Friday, that there are 24 different storage sites in the governorate ready to receive wheat, indicating that instructions have been given to intensify awareness campaigns and meetings for community leaders, including mayors. And the sheikhs, to urge farmers to supply the wheat crop in order to ensure food security for Egypt.

He added that he stressed raising the degree of complete and good preparation for the wheat supply season this year and ensuring that the silos, barns, and hangars are ready and take into account the technical requirements necessary for the storage process in order to preserve On the crop.. He also directed all concerned authorities in the governorate to facilitate farmers during the supply and receipt operations, as well as paving the main roads for barns and mills and the necessity of having fences for barns that need this, as well as ensuring that there is a fire truck close to every storage site.

< p> In Dakahlia Governorate, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Supply in the governorate, the accountant Mr. Dayra, said that the quantities of wheat supplied to Shawn and the governorate’s silos amounted to 161,412 tons and 704 kilograms so far, as part of the wheat supply work in the governorate since the first day of supply on April 15 last.&nbsp

He added that the total number of barns and silos prepared to receive the wheat being supplied is 37 locations within the governorate, with a storage capacity of 289 thousand tons. 

In Qalyubia Governorate, the governor, Abdul Hamid Al-Hagan, said that The total amount of wheat that has been supplied to the silos of Washon Governorate has so far reached 46,172 tons.

The governor stressed that the supply process is a national mission, and that no laxity or negligence will be allowed during it, calling on all farmers to commit to supplying wheat to the silos. And the allocated barns to preserve the public good.

He added that it was emphasized to follow the mechanisms and stages of supplying wheat to the silo, starting with receiving the cars and loads and taking a sample by the committee formed to determine the degree of purity and quality of the crop, and then the truck scale, all the way to the Nuqra area. To unload the load.

"Al-Hagan" stressed It is necessary to remove all obstacles that hinder the process of receiving the wheat crop to all silos, barns and collection points, so that the highest quantity supplied can be reached to reduce the burden on importing wheat from abroad.

In Kafr El-Sheikh Governorate, the Undersecretary of the Governorate’s Supply Directorate said The official spokesman for the directorate, Adel Al-Habit, said that the total amount of wheat that has been supplied so far to Shawn and the governorate’s silos amounted to 107,849 tons and 109 kg.

He added that the receipt of local wheat during the current 2024 season is through 25 affiliated sites. To the marketing entities affiliated with the Egyptian Silo Company, the Egyptian Agricultural Bank, the Kafr El-Sheikh Mills Sector, and the South Cairo and Giza Mills and Bakeries Company.

He continued that a central operations room was formed, headed by accountant Abdel Fattah Jaber, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Supply, to follow up on these sites during the supply season. Go through them and solve any problems that some of them may encounter, according to the governor’s directives. Gamal Nour El-Din, who stressed the implementation of the decisions of Dr. Ali El-Moselhi, Minister of Supply and Internal Trade, by regularly paying farmers’ and suppliers’ dues.
