Thunderstorms in Ile-de-France: air traffic at Orly and Roissy disrupted

Air traffic was disrupted this Wednesday evening at Paris Orly and Roissy-Charles de Gaulle, due to storms which affected Ile-de-France, reports France Bleu Paris. A violent storm brought rain and hail to the region placed on orange storm alert by Météo-France.

The ADP group specifies to France Bleu Paris that several flights have been diverted from Orly to other airports, “fifteen” approximately. The Paris firefighters have strengthened their system and planned reinforcements.

All operations were stopped during the storm. Air traffic was frozen at Orly and Roissy for around thirty minutes for security reasons according to the ADP group. Flights have been delayed and may not be able to take off from Orly, explains Aéroports de Paris. Traffic gradually resumed around 10:30 p.m.
