Hackers attacked Russian and Ukrainian TV channels during a parade in Moscow

Hackers attacked Ukrainian and Russian TV channels during the Victory Parade on Red Square.

Hackers in Russia hacked network of the provider “Ufanet”, which broadcasts in Bashkiria and the Orenburg region. SmartTV users in the Omsk and Irkutsk regions complained about hacking.

On several TV channels the broadcast stopped at one frame. Other channels broadcast videos related to Ukraine, as well as headlines from opposition media and footage from the Russian March.

Hackers also hacked the satellite broadcast of the Ukrainian TV channels StarLightMedia and Inter and launched broadcast of the Victory Parade in Moscow. It was shown for 18 minutes.

Information about the hack was confirmed by the National Council of Ukraine on Television and Radio Broadcasting. After the hack, Ukrainian providers switched to an alternative method of receiving a signal – IPTV.

The Latvian company Balticom, whose channels showed the Victory Parade, was also subject to a cyber attack. writes Delfi. After the hack, Internet television services were disconnected, the reasons for the incident are being clarified.
