She “has no more money!”, her misadventure in the Paris metro…

Despite her immense success, Chantal Goya never got a big head. There’s no question of traveling in a limousine with a driver, but when she takes the metro, it quickly gets busy…

It was at the end of the 70s and in the 80s that Chantal Goya reached the heights of her glory. However, more than 40 years later, the star of songs for children (and adults) is far from having lost his notoriety and popularity in the hearts of the French. The proof ? When she takes public transport, it’s impossible to go unnoticed!

Chantal Goya not a traveler like the others in the metro

Chantal Goya still remembers perfectly the day she was forced to take the metro because her umbrella flew away one day when it was raining heavily. The presence of this famous user in the train – which is not so common for show business stars – did not go unnoticed! The star remembers in the talk Legend by Guillaume Pley, broadcast on Sunday April 7, 2024 on YouTube, that a group of passers-by exclaimed out loud: “Oh dear, Goya has no money left, she’s taking the metro!”

Terribly embarrassed, Chantal Goya then rushes out to the next station. A situation which amused the main interested party… “Everyone applauded me, it was a happening in the metro train.” And it wasn’t over… “Afterwards, there was a tramp who sang ‘This morning, a rabbit!'”she remembers with a laugh.

Chantal Goya friendly with the people who approach her?

Chantal Goya assures that she remained simple despite the success. “Everyday life and I know how to close the door to things that are…” The interpreter of Snipe then pauses and decides to empty his bag. She then makes a strange revelation… “Look, I hate to say it, but I’ve never listened to a song of my own. I can’t. I feel like I don’t know what I’m doing. I don’t listen to my records when they’re finished I say to myself: ‘How I sing, it’s not possible’.” With great sincerity, Chantal Goya notes: “I have no ego!”

He is a person close to the public. So much so that when she takes the train, the singer invites to her concerts… all the controllers. “When I take the train to Châteauroux, I take selfies with the conductors and invite them to my show!”, she says. And if Chantal Goya no longer takes the metro, she nevertheless passed the turnstile many years ago for the filming of a show by Maritie and Gilbert Carpentier! The star then took the funicular to reach the summits of the Butte Montmartre!
