Prince Andrew reaches deal with Virginia Joffrey in sexual assault case

Prince Andrew, the son of Britain’s Queen Elizabeth II, has reached a settlement in a civil sexual assault case brought against him by Virginia Joffrey in the United States.

Joffrey sued the prince, alleging that he repeatedly sexually assaulted her more than 20 years ago when she was a minor.

Geoffrey alleges that she was forced to have sex with Prince as a “sex slave” to convicted sexual abuse perpetrator Jeffrey Epstein.

These meetings were held at the home of socialite Ghislaine Maxwell (later convicted of aiding and abetting sexual assault) in London, Epstein’s home on the Upper East Side, and on a Caribbean island he owned.

The prince and the royal family have denied the allegations. Joffrey’s lawyers previously said she was not interested in a “purely financial settlement”.

It was not revealed how much the prince will pay, according to the court filing, but he said the Duke of York “intends to make a significant donation” to the charity “to support the rights of victims”.

According to the court document, the prince “never wanted to denigrate the character of Madame Joffrey and admit that she suffered as a recognized victim of violence and as a result of unjust assaults.”

Jeffrey Epstein is known to have trafficked countless young girls over the years. Epstein committed suicide in a Manhattan prison cell while awaiting trial for sex trafficking in 2019.
