US-led Saber Strike 22 military exercises begin

The international military exercise Saber Strike 22 began in Latvia, on February 18, led by the United States.

The US Armed Forces Command in Europe will manage the course of the exercises. They will run until March 23rd. Approximately 400 US soldiers, about 100 pieces of equipment and 22 Apache helicopters will participate in the exercises.

As of February 28, approximately 800 US soldiers and approximately 250 pieces of military equipment will be redeployed from Lithuania. From this date until March 11, the Crystal Arrow 22 international military exercise will be held. The organizer is the mechanized infantry brigade of the Land Forces. The total number of participants in these maneuvers will be 2,800 soldiers and representatives of the militia (Zmisarj) from Latvia, the United States and ten other countries of the NATO multinational battalion located on the territory of the republic.

More than 300 units of ground and air equipment will also participate in the Crystal Arrow 22 exercises.

During the March exercises, KS-135 aircraft carriers will be present in the Baltic states to participate in exercises with US F-15 fighter jets deployed in Estonia.
