NATO raises alert level for thousands of troops

NATO raised the level of readiness of thousands of soldiers due to the crisis with Russia.

The DPA report, citing a source close to the coalition, says: “The rapid reaction force should be deployed in just 7 days, not 30 … In the meantime, diplomatic efforts are continuing, and US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken should meet again with his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov to discuss the conflict.”

On January 18, Germany raised the level of readiness of troops in the event of an escalation in Ukraine. The Bundeswehr added that the decision of the NATO Council is required for the transfer of NATO forces.
