It turns out that being the vice president does have a few perks. 

Vice President Kamala Harris received two tickets to a Beyonce concert that were valued at $1,655.92, according to her financial disclosure report. 

The tickets were listed as a gift from Beyonce.

Harris also received tickets to the HBCU football championship football game in Atlanta to see her alma mater Howard University compete with Florida A&M University’s football team.

The football tickets for Harris and her husband Doug Emhoff were worth $1,890, listed as a gift from ESPN. Despite Harris’ enthusiastic support for her team, Florida A&M beat Howard 30-26.

The free tickets were disclosed in Harris’ 2023 financial report from the White House.

‘To the one of one, the number one, the only one, Beyonce, thank you for a fun date night,’ she wrote, posting a picture of her wearing a sparkling gold sequined shirt.

 Harris has long been a fan of Beyonce, but she and the famous singer have never been publicly seen together. Beyonce has a much warmer relationship with former First Lady Michelle Obama. 

But that has not stopped the vice president for professing her love for Beyonce’s music.

The Vice President gushed over Beyonce’s new country music album ‘Cowboy Carter’ that was released in March. 

‘I love that she’s doing, like again, how wonderful is that to just really fully own and dive into your range, right? And to never feel that you must be confined to other people’s perspective on what you lane is, and instead just go for it. I love that,’ Harris said during a podcast interview in April.

 Harris also praised Beyonce’s country album on social media.

‘Thank you for reminding us to never feel confined to other people’s perspective of what our lane is,’ Harris wrote. ‘You have redefined a genre and reclaimed country music’s Black roots. Your music continues to inspire us all.’

In 2023, Harris said her favorite Beyonce song was ‘Break my Soul.’

‘I just love that song,’ she said to People magazine. ‘I play it all the time. I think it’s one of the anthems for women . . . when [Beyoncé says] “you,” you could be life, you could be a person, you could be a situation. You will not break my soul. I can endure.’

Harris has used Beyonce to mark the highs and lows of her political career, including her own failed fun for president in 2019,

After announcing her decision to end her campaign, she celebrated by dancing with her campaign staff to Beyoncé’s version of ‘Before I Let Go’.
