Ève Gilles (Miss France 2024) shaken by criticism: “I eat normally but…”

For 5 days, Miss France 2024 participated in the traditional integration trip, to Mauritius, with former crowns. But the latter burst into tears when she had to pose in a swimsuit.

At only 20 years old, Eve Gilles is living a waking dream… or almost! Elected Miss Nord-Pas-de-Calais 2023 then Miss France 2024, the one who stands out for her boyish cut and her smile always hanging on her lips was entitled to the traditional integration trip into the Miss France family, granted to the winner. This year, we are heading to Mauritius in the company of five former Miss France: Camille Cerf, Maëva Coucke, Diane Leyre, Indira Ampiot and Cindy Fabre, the new director of the competition.

On site, and under the cameras of Tele-Leisurethe new miss has cracked…

Ève Gilles (Miss France 2024) affected by physical criticism

Usually very comfortable for photo shoots, Eve Gilles was however overwhelmed when it came time to do a swimsuit shoot in a heavenly setting. Certainly, the young woman had willingly complied with the portrait of herself in a bikini during the preparation trip a few months ago but, since then, she has been the victim of criticism and mockery even though she was elected by the French and the jury.

Eve Gilles then broke down and cried, affirming that the criticisms she regularly hears or reads about her very marked thinness have had a lot of impact on her mental health in recent months. However, the former Misses complimented her on her beauty and also told her that they had also had criticism of their physique. “It was very touching. I’m very modest and I have difficulty expressing my feelings or showing my emotions. With my parents or my two older sisters, we never say ‘I love you.’ So I’m not really comfortable when I receive compliments.” proclaimed Eve Gilles.

Why is Eve Gilles complex about her weight?

The young Northerner had learned to love herself as she is, but the numerous criticisms swept away her self-confidence. “I eat normally but I don’t gain weight. I learned to love my body, which I hated when I was little, and I had confidence in myself. Everything was destroyed. People expect us to be exceptional. Some say for example ‘Is this your Miss France?’ Well yes, I’m a woman, I was elected and I don’t see what more they expect.” assumes Eve Gilles.

The beauty queen is also fed up with being associated only with her boyish cut, commented on as far as the United States after her coronation last December under the eye of host Jean-Pierre Foucault. “I am completely Ève Gilles, Miss France 2024. Not just Ève Gilles, the girl with the short hair. I showed what I was capable of. I am respected for the person that I am”. That’s what it says!
