Opening of the 50th session of the Arab Labor Conference in Baghdad

Baghdad, April 27 / WAM / The work of the Arab Labor Conference in its fiftieth session opened today in the Iraqi capital, Baghdad, and will continue for a week.
The conference was opened by Iraqi Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani, in the presence of the Secretary-General of the Arab League, Ahmed Aboul Gheit, and a number of Arab labor ministers.

Al-Sudani said in his opening speech that the world is witnessing crises whose impact has been reflected on the global economy and the social, psychological and economic situation of the peoples of the Arab region, and has negatively affected labor productivity.
He stressed that women must be attracted to work as a productive capacity that cannot be stopped, as well as reducing child labor. He also stressed the importance of adopting new production methods and raising the level of workers and institutions based on creativity, innovation and the use of modern technology.
