Born on February 23, 1968 in Thionville, Carole Gaessler is originally from Hettange Grande in Moselle, six kilometers from Luxembourg. It was there that she grew up with her parents and her sister in a “modest middle”. And the journalist keeps an intact memory of her complicity with her father. “My father only had two daughters. She was the face of the show Roots and wings for almost 10 years. In 2014, Carole Gaessler took up the torch from the emblematic Patrick de Carolis and took viewers to discover the beauties of France. It was not at its beginnings: from 1996 to 1998, it already presented the weekend editions of Evening News 3before moving to her big sister France 2. There, she presented the 1 p.m. news from 1998 to 2000 then became David Pujadas’ joker from 2003 to 2006.

“I talk very little about my life and expose myself very little”, admits Carole Gaessler. On the heart side, she has been in perfect love with her husband Franck since 1997. They met on a barge in the Paris suburbs and have never left each other. And everything happened very quickly between them: “Four months after we met, Franck and I got engaged and six months later, we were married”she explained to Closer in 2006. The sun after the storm: this is the journalist’s second marriage. Her first husband died at just 29 years old in a car accident: Laurent Lépinasse, then deputy editor-in-chief of the RTL TV channel, was killed by a heavy goods vehicle traveling in the opposite direction on the A4 motorway.

In 1998, she agreed to present the 1 p.m. news on France 2 in a duo with Rachid Arhab.
