Opening registration for the first edition of the program " Dubai Municipality for Excellence in Food Systems"
DUBAI, 3rd May / WAM / Registration has opened for the first edition of the “Dubai Municipality Program for Excellence in Food Systems” (DM Food Elite), which aims to honor an elite group of distinguished food establishments in applying the highest standards of excellence in nutrition and food safety, and who are committed to… By promoting environmental sustainability, social responsibility, innovation and digital transformation, and stimulating excellence and improving the quality of life in the emirate’s society.
Sultan Al Taher, Director of the Food Safety Department at Dubai Municipality, stated on this occasion that the program is the result of the continuous efforts of Dubai Municipality and its keenness to build a sustainable food system that guarantees the safety and sustainability of food systems in accordance with the highest international standards, and provides the best elements of health and food safety that make Dubai more pioneering. Sustainability and quality of life every day, so that the program will be a pioneering mark for honoring the food entities and establishments that contributed to improving this system and left a prominent impact in strengthening the leadership of the Emirate of Dubai as a global commercial center, and supporting the goals of the “Food Security Strategy for the Emirate of Dubai.”
He pointed out that the program includes three categories: excellence in the restaurant category, excellence in the hotel restaurant category, and excellence in the fast food restaurant and cafeteria category, indicating that the facility will be selected based on five criteria that include excellence in food safety and nutrition, sustainability, food safety culture, Digital transformation and innovation.
Food establishments wishing to participate in the program can submit registration applications through the website designated for the program until next June 30 via the link: dmfoodelite.dm.gov.ae.
It is noteworthy that Dubai Municipality had announced the “Food Systems Excellence Program” during the opening of the seventeenth session of the “Dubai International Food Safety Conference,” which was organized by the municipality, under the slogan “The Impact of Climate Change on Food Safety,” in the period from 11 to 13 December 2023.
