A magnitude 6 earthquake strikes off Leyte Island in the central Philippines

Manila, May 3 / WAM / An earthquake measuring 6 on the Richter scale struck off the province of Leyte Island in the central Philippines today, Friday, with aftershocks expected.

This was announced by the Philippine Seismological Agency. However, there have been no official reports yet about damage or casualties as a result of the earthquake that occurred at sea.
