she no longer expects a companion in her life…

At 67 years old, Claire Chazal is a heart to be taken. But the former TF1 news star doesn’t have a very rosy view of life as a couple.

Although she left the airwaves of TF1 several years ago, Claire Chazal is not yet retired. Quite the contrary! The one who is at the Théâtre de Poche in Paris every Monday evening at the moment, recently made a most surprising appearance in the latest Netflix series by Pierre Niney and Igor Gosteman, Fiasco. And she is also in charge of Large Chessboard on France 3. No time to get bored for the 67-year-old television woman who was also Bernard Montiel’s guest on his show 1 hour withbroadcast on RFM on May 5.

For Claire Chazal, married life is not “an obsession”

The journalist and presenter took advantage of this interview to discuss, without hiding, her love life. Because if she shared her life with many public figures – Patrick Poivre d’Arvor, with whom she also had a son named François, Xavier Couture, Philippe Torreton and Arnaud Lemaire -, she no longer appeared on the arm of no man since her breakup with the latter in 2015.

Asked about her relationship to love and relationships, she highlighted her celibacy and stressed that married life was no longer “an obsession” for her. “I think that in the sentimental field, I have always been passionate, quite complete. A bit of a quest for the absolute. So, it’s a bit doomed to failure and desperate”she said.

And it’s up to her to continue: “I believe that we must accept routine, habit and desire which goes away a little”. Passionate, Claire Chazal therefore visibly no longer seeks to be so and easily associates celibacy with “freedom”. “We can assume the responsibility of choosing our life alone (…) I believe that sometimes we have conquered a form of freedom, and that is precious too. It’s a solitude, that’s true, but it’s also a freedom”she conceded rather proudly.

Claire Chazal “defeatist” in love ? She explains

Judged “defeatist” by Bernard Montiel, Claire Chazal agreed to provide some detail about her vision of things. “These are moments, clearly. And of course, there were some. Absolute happiness cannot be defined. And that requires the strength to stop at these moments and say: ‘There, it’s good there, it’s complete, it’s full, it’s round'”, began the ex-TF1 star. Before continuing: “So, yes, you shouldn’t be totally pessimistic, it exists and passion makes the heart beat and that’s the most wonderful thing, naturally. But it is sometimes also synonymous with suffering. love is both”.

In the process, the former news presenter cherished the friendship, this “precious link” in which she finds a certain “loyalty”. “It’s much gentler. And it exists, I’m not saying it’s ideal, but I think we can claim it”, she finished her interview. Has Claire Chazal therefore given up for good the idea of finding a companion with whom to end her life?
