ABU DHABI, 14th May / WAM / The Abu Dhabi Endowments Authority, the Endowments and Minors’ Funds Management Authority, and the Department of Health in Abu Dhabi, today, on the sidelines of the activities of Abu Dhabi Healthcare Week, launched a health care endowment worth one billion dirhams over five years, with the aim of promoting charitable work. A statement issued by the Department of Health in Abu Dhabi indicated that the Abu Dhabi Endowments will be one of the primary contributors with its commitment of 50 million dirhams to the endowment, and will encourage institutions and sectors of society to join in enhancing the capabilities of this endowment to ensure sustainable and continuous financing based on the importance of the social impact of health care. .
In the presence of His Excellency Mansour Ibrahim Al Mansouri, Chairman of the Department of Health in Abu Dhabi, and His Excellency Abdul Hamid Mohammed Saeed, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Abu Dhabi Endowments, the agreement was signed by His Excellency Dr. Noura Khamis Al Ghaithi, Undersecretary of the Department of Health, and His Excellency Fahd Al Qasim, Acting Director General of the Abu Dhabi Endowments.
His Excellency Mansour Al Mansouri said, “One of the goals of Abu Dhabi Global Healthcare Week is to make all communities’ enjoyment of high-quality health care a global priority, and partnerships represent an actual and tangible step towards achieving these goals.”
He added, “Under the directives of the wise leadership of the UAE, the department is proud, in cooperation with Abu Dhabi Endowments, to launch the health endowment, which seeks to provide sustainable financing and enhance the social impact of health care, which reflects our commitment to creating a sustainable flow of support that ensures access to health care services for all members of society.”
His Excellency Abdul Hamid Muhammad Saeed said, “This announcement represents a pivotal milestone in the endowment sector in the country, and we are launching an exceptional precedence that indicates the strength that society can create if efforts are united.”
He added, “Our contribution to the health care endowment is an integral part of our commitment to managing funds and endowments responsibly, fairly and effectively. We aim to develop endowment values and enhance the concept of endowment as a catalyst for sustainability.”
