This came during a telephone call conducted by the Minister of Foreign Affairs today, Friday, with Sigrid Kach, the United Nations chief coordinator for humanitarian affairs and reconstruction in the Gaza Strip. The official spokesman and director of the Public Diplomacy Department at the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Ahmed Abu Zeid, stated that the Minister of Foreign Affairs and the UN official discussed – in depth – the various dimensions of the humanitarian crisis taking place in the Gaza Strip. Shukri also listened to the UN official’s assessment of the current situation regarding the work of the UN mechanism established pursuant to Security Council Resolution 2720.
