Magnitude 7.3 earthquake strikes northeastern Japan
A powerful 7.3-magnitude earthquake has struck northeastern Japan, according to the country’s main meteorological department.
The source of the earthquake is located at a depth of 60 km. The emergency alarm system has been activated.
A tsunami threat has been declared in two prefectures of the country – Miyagi and Fukushima, and its height can reach about a meter.
Tokyo also felt strong undulating shocks. Residents were urged to find shelter.
So far there is no data on losses and destruction.
