Netherlands freezes Russia’s financial assets

Dutch Finance Minister Sigrid Kaag said in a letter to the country’s lower house that local banks have frozen Russian assets worth about 400 million euros.

“The total amount of frozen assets amounted to 391 944 031 euros. The table shows the reports received by the Ministry as of March 21. In light of the above, this is probably not a complete picture of the consequences of sanctions and freezing (Russian assets) by financial institutions and trusts.

She specifically explained the amount of assets that have been frozen by financial institutions in the Netherlands. Banks – about 145 million euros, trusts – 242.6 million euros, pension funds – 379,886 euros, investment companies – 3.9 million euros.

According to Kaag, the data may change in connection with the new package of EU sanctions.
