South Korea holds a cultural exhibition in France

SEOUL, 3 May / WAM / South Korea yesterday began a six-month program to showcase its diverse artistic and cultural scene in major cities across France, coinciding with Paris’ preparations to host the 2024 Summer Olympics.

The Korean News Agency “Yonhap” reported that the “2024 Korea Season” is scheduled to include 34 events, including performances, exhibitions and handicrafts, organized by 17 Korean cultural and artistic institutions affiliated with the government, according to the Korean Ministry of Culture, which organized the program.

The opening show, “Urban Pulse Uprising,” was held yesterday at the Theater du Chatelet in Paris, in the presence of South Korean Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Yoo In-chun, along with prominent French figures.

The program also includes a concert by emerging young Korean classical musicians, along with an exhibition of Korean handicrafts, a special exhibition of Korean folk plays and media arts, an exhibition featuring Korean cultural content, such as TV dramas and films, as well as a promotion for Korean tourism.

During the Olympics, the “Korea House” will be a center offering diverse Korean content, such as music, drama and films, as well as tourism, books, traditional culture and Korean-style ballet for international visitors.
