Al-Quseir directs those who are negligent in distributing fertilizers to farmers to be held accountable
Mr. Al-Quseir, Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, held a meeting to follow up on the governance and fertilizer transfer system, in the presence of the heads of agricultural cooperatives, fertilizer transportation companies, leaders of the relevant ministry, and the Agricultural Bank Company.
Al-Qusayr confirmed during the meeting that the state is making great efforts in the fertilizer issue, stressing the need for cooperation and coordination in order to provide fertilizers to farmers at the appropriate time during the growing season.
The Minister of Agriculture directed the need to review fertilizer shipping programs nationwide to confront any problems and work to solve them immediately, with the need to redouble efforts to achieve greater governance.
Al-Quseir pointed to the ministry’s efforts to implement a governance system for fertilizer circulation, which ensures its delivery from factories to associations, follows up on disbursement work, and avoids tampering or smuggling, thus ensuring that fertilizer support reaches its true beneficiaries.
The Minister of Agriculture added that today’s meeting comes before the peak of the start of fertilization of strategic and summer crops during the next month, with the aim of avoiding any problems before they occur. Therefore, the matter requires all members of the fertilizer system to exert their best efforts, whether associations or companies, as well as the leaders of the relevant ministry.
The Minister of Agriculture directed that those negligent in performing their work and their failure to dispense fertilizers be held accountable on time, stressing at the same time the constant follow-up of the system of issuing the farmer card to facilitate the procedures for disbursing fertilizers to farmers.
