The family of father who vanished more than a week ago, sparking a desperate search, have incredibly revealed he has been found safe and well.

Geoff Rayner, 53, disappeared from Tugun, Queensland, on his way to the NSW border at 10:30am on May 8, concerningly leaving his wallet and phone behind.

Mr Rayner’s partner Carmel May has been updating family and friends in the Gold Coast via Facebook but until now had found no solid trace of him.

Mr Rayner was driving a white Prado Rego towards the NSW Hinterland and Ms May said once his car was located the SES was ready to launch a full search.

Ms May provided an update on Tuesday night and said: ‘We have Geoff Rayner home safe’.

‘Please know we are eternally grateful for everyone’s help.

‘We are just taking the time to love and cherish this moment of having him back with us.

‘I will never have the words to express our gratitude.’

In the latest update, Ms May confirmed that there was still no trace of Mr Rayner as of Monday, and that the search had extended into NSW’s northern rivers.

Ms May launched an online campaign in order to track her partner down which she said has yielded multiple sightings of the white Prado Rego Mr Rayner was last seen in

On Friday, she said that Mr Rayner had never acted like this before.

‘As you can imagine I am not in the best state right now and am struggling to respond to everyone but please know I see and appreciate you all,’ she wrote.

‘Geoff has never left me for this long without telling me his whereabouts , especially without a phone and wallet.

‘Hold your loved ones a little closer tonight and never ever forget to tell them you love them.’

Ms May believes Mr Rayner was initially heading to the NSW Hinterland, but after days of no contact she conceded that he ‘could be anywhere by now’.

NSW and Queensland Police were actively involved in the search and have been using CCTV footage in an attempt to trace the journey of Mr Rayner’s vehicle.

Ms May spent Mother’s Day with her daughter and family from interstate responding to the waves of notifications her search is turning up online.

She said that she has been in contact with people who claimed to have seen Mr Rayner on the roads and that she is feeling optimistic about finding him.

‘We have met a ton of people that have seen these posts, they are being shared absolutely everywhere,’ Ms May wrote.

‘I personally want to thank my aunt and brother who have flown interstate to help with the search and my two amazing daughters, daughter in law and son in law who have taken time off from work, lived on no sleep, handed out flyers and drove thousands of kilometres.

‘My daughters have given up their Mothers Day to be in an interstate motel only to wake and return back to our search. I am so blessed to have you and love you all more than you know.’
