Israel cancels mandatory PCR test at airport

The Israeli authorities, amid a decline in infection in the country, decided to cancel the mandatory PCR test at the airport.

The press service of the Ministry of Health said that “passengers who will land at Ben Gurion Airport from May 20, 2022 will no longer need to undergo a PCR test.”

The department indicated that the decision came against the background of the low infection rate in the country, after assessing the situation with the participation of specialists from the ministry and airports authority employees.

In addition, from May 10, foreign nationals traveling to Israel will be allowed to submit a negative antigen test before boarding the plane in place of the PCR test, which was previously mandatory.

Earlier, the Serbian government “based on the current epidemiological situation” in the country lifted all entry restrictions imposed in connection with the coronavirus epidemic. Citizens of the country, like foreigners, are no longer required to have a negative PCR test, rapid antigen test, confirmation of previous illness, or vaccination upon entering the country.
