Chinese panic after ‘blood red sky’ appears, ‘sign of the coming apocalypse’
In Zhoushan, China, the sky turned red, alarming local residents.
People began to wonder what caused this phenomenon, while at the same time posting screenshots on social networks.
Some viewers, looking at the photos, suggested that this was a sign of the upcoming apocalypse.
“It really amazes me that the sky can turn red,” wrote one commenter. “I’ve never seen anything like that before.”
However, forecasters dispelled the panic. As explained by experts, the sky received an unusual color due to the combination of low hanging clouds with refraction of light from the local port.
“Under good weather conditions, the water in the atmosphere forms an aerosol that refracts and scatters light, forming the red sky that people see,” the scientists added.
