Egypt’s single-leg team draws with Nigeria at the opening of the African Nations Championship

Egypt’s single-leg team tied 0-0 with Nigeria at the opening of the African Nations Single-Leg Championship in the match that was held this evening at Al-Salam Stadium.

 

The match witnessed a strong performance by The Egyptian team for one leg, and more than one opportunity was achieved on the Nigerian team’s goal before the opponent’s defenses confronted it.

And Dr. Amr Haddad, head of the Central Administration for Sports Development, inaugurated the day today, representing Dr.  Ashraf Sobhi, Minister of Youth and Sports, today announced the African Nations Single-Leg Football Championship, which will be held from May 18 to 27 of this year.

The opening ceremony witnessed an artistic performance and a singing segment by singer Maryam Al-Ruwaini, and the opening was attended by everyone. From George Schlachtenberger, Chairman of the International Single Leg Football Committee, and Lionel Pinto, Chairman of the African Union Single Leg Committee, Dr. Mahmoud Hussein, Chairman of the Youth and Sports Committee in the House of Representatives,  Mohamed Adel Hosni, Chairman of the Single-Leg Football Committee, Sherif El-Erian, Secretary General of the Olympic Committee, Dr. Ashraf Al-Ajili, Member of the Board of Directors of the Egyptian Paralympic Committee, Sarah Samir, Vice-Chairman of the Single-Leg Football Committee, and Dr. Mahmoud Abdel Aziz, General Director of the Central Administration for Specific Federation Programs. Dr. Amr Al-Sadiq, Executive Director of the Paralympic Committee, Sahar Abdel Haq, former Board Member of the Football Association, Ashraf Lotfy, Acting President of Al-Nasr Club, artist Ismail Farghaly, and artist Mohamed Khamis.

 The opening ceremony was held at Al-Salam Stadium in the presence of the Chairman of the Football Committee. For the single leg of the Confederation of African Football. 

The rest of the tournament matches will be held at the Katameya Club stadiums in Petrosport. 

 

The tournament witnesses the participation of 13 countries confirmed Its participation so far is: Gambia, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Algeria, Kenya, Morocco, Burundi, Ghana,  Uganda, Angola, Nigeria, Tanzania, Liberia, in addition to Egypt, the host of the tournament.

The first group includes Egypt, Nigeria, and Burundi, the second group includes Liberia, Morocco, and Uganda, and the third group includes Ghana, Kenya, Gambia, Algeria, and at the fourth group level. Angola, Tanzania, Sierra Leone, and the following is the tournament match schedule:

 

May 19   Liberia, Uganda, Kenya and Algeria  Angola and Sierra Leone Ghana and Gambia

May 20 

Morocco and Uganda Ghana and Algeria  Tanzania and Sierra Leone  Kenya, Algeria, Egypt and Burundi.

May 21  Algeria, Gambia, Burundi and Nigeria  Angola and Tanzania  Kenya, Ghana, Morocco and Liberia.

The participating teams will rest on May 22, and competitions will resume the next day, May 23, with the qualifying rounds.
