Rapper Oksimiron put on the wanted list in Russia

The Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs has put rapper Oksimiron on the wanted list. Attention to this turned “Mediazone”.

The wanted card states that the musician is wanted under an article of the criminal code. Her number is not specified.

Oksimiron opposes the Russian invasion of Ukraine. After the start of the war, he left Russia and gave a series of charity concerts “Russians against the war.” Money earned from performances by a rapper translated to a fund helping Ukrainian refugees.

In October 2022, Russian authorities declared Oksimiron a foreign agent. In 2023, he was fined twice for failure to fulfill the duties of a “foreign agent,” Mediazona notes. A third violation within a year may result in criminal charges.

In December 2022, the court fined the rapper under the article of discrediting the army due to a video condemning the war in Ukraine.

Also, the Russian authorities banned two of Oksimiron’s songs – “Last Call” (as extremist, in their opinion) and “Oida” (as separatist, also in their opinion).
