Dr. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, the official spokesman for the Ministry of Health and Population, said that the practice of family medicine is characterized by comprehensiveness and diversity, as the doctor deals General with a wide range of health problems and medical needs of patients, ranging from diagnosis and treatment of common and chronic diseases, to disease prevention and directing patients to appropriate medical specialties.

For her part, Dr. Souad Abdel Majeed, President, explained Health care and nursing sector, that many training courses, events and conferences are being implemented that aim to raise the efficiency of family doctors to raise the level of quality of services provided, as new doctors were trained on the family doctors package with a total of 1,112 doctors (632 females – 480 males) through the general administration. For primary care with the implementation of the Primary Care Facilities Development Initiative to improve the quality and efficiency of health services provided in primary care facilities in 21 governorates, while providing incentive packages for medical doctors while achieving beneficiary satisfaction, in accordance with the latest international standards by activating the family medicine system and providing the necessary family files and training necessary to raise Efficiency of medical staff.
She continued that the Central Administration for Integrated Care periodically follows up on the promotion of doctors and raising their academic level in primary health care facilities in all governorates of the Republic, where 80 doctors were promoted, and doctors were nominated on the Ideal Doctor Day, with the implementation of a diploma. Family medicine, in cooperation with the General Authority for Teaching Hospitals and the World Health Organization, to prepare doctors for the work of family medicine through study for a period, for which 50 doctors have so far applied, and it is expected that this number will double in the coming years, as this diploma aims to graduate a large number of doctors. family doctor in a short time to meet the need for a family doctor in the health sector, which will significantly increase the demand for this specialty in the comprehensive health insurance system in 6 governorates in the first phase, heralding an important future for this specialty in Egypt.
