Shoukry participates in two events on global security and growth and supply chain disruptions in the Middle East

  Today, Sunday, Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry participated in an event for global economic leaders on enhancing global security and growth, with the participation of the presidents of Nigeria and Rwanda, the Director General of the International Monetary Fund, and a large number of ministers and private sector leaders. 

 

Minister Shukri also participated in a roundtable on trade and supply chain disruptions in the Middle East, in the presence of the Saudi Minister of Transport, the Jordanian Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Chairman of Maersk, and a number of other prominent figures, as part of the forum’s meeting activities. This was stated by Ambassador Ahmed Abu Zaid, the official spokesman and director of the Public Diplomacy Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, explaining that the Minister of Foreign Affairs was keen during the first event to review ways out of the Gaza crisis, stressing the necessity of an immediate and permanent ceasefire in Gaza.

He added that the Foreign Minister stressed the need for the international community not to be satisfied with expressing its aspiration towards a two-state solution without taking care to adopt executive steps in this context.

He explained that the Foreign Minister discussed during the table The roundtable discussed the consequences of supply chain disruptions in the region on the Egyptian economy, pointing to the importance of the Suez Canal at the heart of international trade, reviewing efforts to develop the canal by working to transform it into an advanced logistics center.
