Gulf Bank launches its 2030 Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Sustainability Strategy
On this occasion, Gulf Bank’s Acting CEO, Mr. Waleed Khaled Mandani, said: “At Gulf Bank, our commitment to environmental, social and governance principles is fundamental to our identity. It highlights our dedication to promoting a sustainable future, not only within our organisation, but also in the wider community. This reflects our aspirations to be a leading banking institution in Kuwait.”
Mr. Mandani noted that the strategy sets specific goals for implementing measurable sustainability standards and key performance indicators. This will lead to the adoption of selected high-quality initiatives, aimed at enhancing environmental and social sustainability as well as corporate governance. These initiatives are designed to reflect our core values and guide every aspect of our banking practices and operations.
He added: “We believe that implementing environmental, social and governance (ESG) standards is essential to our long-term success, and achieving our 2030 strategy will be a testament to our dedication to making a positive impact on society. Aligning our values and business goals with environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles helps us conduct responsible banking practices, empower various social groups, and maintain a fair business environment.
“Our 2030 ESG standards go beyond just financial metrics, to ensure that Gulf Bank’s practices, actions and decisions are consistent with wider community and environmental commitments and adhere to the highest standards in the banking industry, as well as local regulations,” Mr. Mandani explained.
He emphasized that the bank’s success and continued growth depend on integrating environmental, social and governance considerations – governed by a clearly defined comprehensive strategy that is consistent with the values of the bank, its shareholders and its customers.
