Ghada Shalaby witnesses the construction contract for two new hotels

Today, Ghada Shalabi, Deputy Minister of Tourism and Antiquities for Tourism Affairs, witnessed the signing ceremony of a partnership contract between an Egyptian real estate development company, affiliated with an Egyptian-Kuwaiti group specialized in the field of building and construction, and an international hotel chain, to establish, manage and operate two hotels, one of which is in New Cairo. A hotel with 180 rooms and another in the New Administrative Capital with a hotel capacity of 110 rooms.

 

Also participating in the signing ceremony were Ambassador Ghanem Saqr Al-Ghanem, Ambassador of the State of Kuwait in Cairo, and Mohammed Haggag, Director General of the General Administration of Licensing. Hotel facilities at the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, and a number of leaders of the two companies.

During the signing ceremony, the Deputy Minister delivered a speech that began by welcoming the attendees, congratulating the officials of the two companies on the project. She also conveyed the greetings of Ahmed Issa, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, congratulating him on this partnership and his best wishes. The success of this project and the success of those in charge of it, which comes within the framework of the interest of the Egyptian state, especially the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, to encourage tourism investment in Egypt, especially investment in the hotel field.

I also appreciated their decision to invest in tourism in Egypt, especially in the hotel field, especially in The Egyptian tourist destination has continued to witness an increase in the number of incoming tourists, due to the multiplicity of its products, styles and tourist destinations that meet the tastes and desires of all segments of tourists, especially from the markets that the Ministry targets and seeks to increase incoming tourist traffic.

She indicated. She also pointed out that the tourism industry is one of the sources of foreign currency, noting that improving the tourism investment climate and increasing the number of hotel rooms in Egypt is one of the axes of the national tourism strategy in Egypt, which aims to reach 30 million tourists by 2028, pointing out that the number of hotel rooms So far, there are 222,716 hotel rooms in Egypt, indicating that the Ministry aims to double the number of hotel rooms by 2028 to accommodate the targeted tourist numbers.

Professor Ghada Shalabi explained that the year 2023 witnessed an increase in the number of tourists arriving at the Egyptian tourist destination. by 27% compared to 2022.

She added that among the main axes of the national tourism strategy in Egypt is increasing the number of airline seats coming to Egypt in cooperation with the Ministry of Civil Aviation, pointing out that Egypt has many airports, including airports serving Various tourist destinations at the level of the Republic.

I also spoke about the Ministry’s keenness to develop and raise the quality of tourism services provided at tourist and archaeological sites, and in this context, it has concluded many partnerships with the private sector to provide and operate these services at the highest level in many archaeological sites. This comes within the framework of the Ministry’s interest in improving the tourism experience in Egypt, as it is one of the basic axes of the national tourism strategy in Egypt.
