Minister of Irrigation: Egypt is keen to cooperate with African countries in managing water resources

Dr. Hani Sweilem, Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation, affirmed Egypt’s constant keenness to enhance cooperation with various African countries in the field of water resources management, in a way that will benefit the citizens of these countries.

This came during a meeting held by the Minister of Irrigation with Laurent Chagba, Minister of Water of Côte d’Ivoire, on the sidelines of the activities of the Tenth World Water Forum, held in Bali, Indonesia, to discuss ways to enhance cooperation between the two countries in the field of water.

Sowailem invited Côte d’Ivoire to participate in the international initiative for adaptation to climate change in the water sector (AWARe) and to benefit from the initiative’s various paths and submit proposals for priority projects in the field of water and adaptation. With climate change.

He also invited Chagba to participate in the activities of the 7th Cairo Water Week, which is scheduled to be held next October, which coincides with Egypt hosting the 9th African Water Week.
