DIRECT. Giro 2024: new arrival at the summit and new demonstration from Pogacar? Follow step 16

From the mountain, again. The day after the second day of rest of this Giro 2024, and two days after the queen stage marked by the demonstration of Tadej Pogacar (UAE Emirates), the peloton remains in the high Italian mountains, Tuesday May 21, for the 16th stage of this Tour of Italy. On the program: 206 km between Livigno and Santa Cristina Val Gardena, in the Adige and Isarco valleys, but especially on the slopes of Giogo Di Santa Maria and Paso Pinei, before the final climb towards the Val station Gardena.

Alone in the world on Sunday on the slopes of Livigno, Tadej Pogacar will have a new opportunity to crush this Giro a little more, he who already has a six minutes and 41 seconds lead over Geraint Thomas (INEOS-Grenadiers), his runner-up in the General classification. Unless the Slovenian, with this colossal lead, (finally) slows down, he who is also aiming for the Tour de France in July.
