“I heard things I no longer thought were possible”

While the appeal trial – for defamation – between Coline Berry-Rojtman and Jeane Manson was marked by the singer’s heart accident, on May 7 in Lyon, the actress Marilou Berry continues to fiercely support her cousin in this legal case and family.

She spoke on her Instagram account by illustrating this day in court with several photos. We see in particular the unexpected presence of another actress who came to support the clan, Vahina Giocante.

Coline Berry-Rojtman VS Jeane Manson: towards the end of a long fight?

Remember that Richard Berry’s daughter accuses her father and her ex-stepmother of rape and sexual assault between 1982 and 1986 when she was still a minor. Supported by part of her family, she therefore filed a complaint in 2021 but her complaint was dismissed in August 2022 due to statute of limitations.

This Tuesday, it was therefore not to obtain justice that she appeared before the Lyon court, but rather to respond to her former mother-in-law who has since filed a complaint against her for defamation. Initially convicted, Coline Berry-Rojtman ultimately did not need to appeal since the Court of Cassation annulled this judgment and sent the case back to the Court of Appeal.

A situation which could have ended this week but the 73-year-old American singer suffered a heart attack and was admitted to hospital. The judgment is reserved until July 17.

Marilou Berry denounces “hours of mud dumped” on her cousin

In her fight, Coline Berry-Rojtman can count on her famous cousin, Marilou Berry. Philippe Berry’s daughter published a series of four photos documenting the endless day in court. “Almost 12 hours of trial. What strength you have Coline to live through this hell for the third time”first wrote the actress.

Following her publication, Josiane Balasko’s daughter did not fail to denounce the dysfunctions of the French judicial system. “Yesterday, I heard things that I no longer thought possible. Justice does not protect victims, it drowns them. By hand, patiently, until the moment you think you will die. Justice is Jack Nicholson in The Shining. In the end, the victims are saved… But at what cost?”she lamented before describing the “hours of mud dumped” on his cousin during the hearing. “Coline is not a mythomaniac. Coline is not crazy. Coline is a victim. Her life is a reflection of this hell”she concluded before revealing in the story a supposed text message that Richard Berry would have sent to his daughter in private: “Forgive me, I suffered from Jeane’s insolent freedom”.

The actress Vahina Giocante was also present alongside Coline Berry-Rojtman. She herself a victim of incest by her father, she pointed out a “attempt to silence a victim by a hateful clan”. And she added: “I could not use words to describe the ignominy and the crassest indecency that Coline Berry had to endure. My ears bled, my eyes cried, my stomach heaved (…). I measure even more my incredible luck to be part of the 1% of incest complaints to have resulted in recognition.”
