The railway lines in the Holy Sites and the Two Holy Mosques are increasing their readiness as the Hajj season approaches
The General Authority for Transport supervised the measurement of the readiness of the Holy Sites Train, the Haramain Express Train, and the Automated Train at King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah, coinciding with the approaching Hajj season for this year 1445 AH. The supervision and control operations included field visits to the Holy Sites train stations, It consists of 9 stations distributed in the Holy Sites, connected by a double railway line with a length of 18 kilometers. The capacity of the Holy Sites Train is 72 thousand passengers per hour in one direction, and it provides more than 2,000 trips. It contributes to facilitating the movement of the guests of God to and from their locations.
The field visits also included examining the readiness of the Haramain Express Train in Jeddah, which consists of 5 stations and 35 trains, The number of trips of the Haramain Express Train during the Hajj season exceeds more than 3.8 thousand trips, thus adding a comfortable and easy transportation experience.
The Authority also measured the extent of readiness of the carrier train. The automated conveyor at King Abdulaziz Airport in Jeddah, which contributes to the movement of passengers and pilgrims inside the new airport building (Hall 1) from the travel procedures area to the international terminal area and vice versa. The length of the automated conveyor path is 750 meters, and its capacity is 4,000 passengers per hour in One-way, equipped with the latest systems and technologies to ensure the quality of services provided to pilgrims and travelers.
The Public Transport Authority continues its efforts to ensure the efficiency and readiness of all transportation services provided to the pilgrims and to ensure their safety. And their comfort during the Hajj season.
