It is the name given by the Palestinians to their displacement and the demolition of most of the political, economic and cultural features of their society in 1948, which is the year in which the Palestinian people were expelled from their home and land and lost their homeland, in favor of establishing the Jewish state – Israel.

A group of people will participate in the symposium. International experts, those interested in Palestinian affairs, media professionals, and journalists.

It is noteworthy that Heliopolis Library participated in the Egyptian Media Forum in its monthly salon, which this month bears the title «The Al-Aqsa Flood between Law and Media».

Dr. Nabil Helmy, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Heliopolis Association, professor of international law and former dean of the Faculty of Law, spoke at the symposium, Counselor Hassan Omar, an expert in international law, and journalist Ibrahim Al-Sayyad, former head of the news sector at Egyptian TV. The forum also addressed Israel’s violation of international law, its lack of regard for civilians, and its bombing of health facilities in a clear war of annihilation taking place before the eyes of the international community. The forum addressed the important role of the Egyptian media in providing a large space for voices expressing the truth about what is happening in Gaza in particular and Palestine in general, and recorded the truth of what is happening with our Palestinian brothers, at a time when the Western media sided with the Israeli narrative without taking into account the simplest journalistic and media norms.
