The Minister of Endowments stresses the importance of respecting the feelings of the deceased’s family and freedom of the media at the same time

   The Minister of Endowments, Dr. Muhammad Mukhtar Jumaa, stressed the importance of respecting the sanctity of places of worship, respecting the majesty of the death scene, respecting the feelings of the family of the deceased, respecting the freedom of the press and media and their national role at the same time, and taking into account all moral, human and professional values.

 

The Minister of Endowments indicated, during a meeting held today, Tuesday, with Karam Jabr, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Media Regulation, Abdel Sadiq Al-Shorbaji, Chairman of the National Press Authority, Khaled Al-Balshi, Head of the Journalists Syndicate, and Tariq Saada, Head of the Media Syndicate, that a consensus formula had been agreed upon. There is no right to be unfair to a right, and no right should be preferred at the expense of another right.

He explained that internationally recognized professional controls have been put in place in a way that preserves the right of the media to exercise their professional role and preserves the sanctity of places of worship and the solemnity of the situation of death, in order to achieve All common interests, especially taking into account human aspects and general societal sense and taste.
