China successfully completes ignition test of a new liquid-propellant rocket engine

The China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation announced on Monday that it had successfully tested the ignition of its liquid-fueled rocket engine with the highest thrust… describing this as a new breakthrough in the development of liquid-fueled rocket propulsion in the country.

The company stated – in a statement carried by the Chinese news agency “Xinhua” – This test is also the first parallel ignition test ever for four engines with enormous propulsion power running on liquid oxygen and kerosene. The 130-ton liquid oxygen-kerosene engine – developed by the aforementioned company – has a total propulsion force of more than 500 tons, and compared to other engines Powered by liquid oxygen and kerosene currently used in the 120-ton class, the new engine not only features greater thrust and better performance, but also features a more compact structure, which effectively enhances the payload capacity of the missile.

She added that the parallel ignition test indicates the integration of four mature engine systems, as they work in perfect harmony instead of just putting them together. This approach provides greater propulsion for the missile while reducing the overall complexity of the system, and this successful test run proves the ability to coordinate multiple engines and their reliability. In high thermal environments, demonstrating that the engines are fully capable of keeping up with aviation applications.
