JO bonuses at RATP: up to 1,777 euros for station and station agents, management announces

RATP metro and RER station agents who will work during the Paris Olympics will be able to receive up to 1,777 euros gross in bonuses according to an agreement signed with the unions, management announced on Wednesday May 8. This system, the exact amount of which will depend on the constraints actually accumulated by each employee, concerns the 5,500 station agents and stations likely to work from July 22 to September 8, during the competition period of the Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Negotiations for Olympic bonuses are carried out job by job at RATP and 9 out of 12 jobs “have finalized their negotiation process”, RATP told AFP. The most sensitive negotiation, that concerning metro and RER drivers, concluded at the end of April with an agreement providing for a bonus of 1,600 euros, which could be supplemented on certain lines and reach 2,500 euros if all the constraints, including the postponement or cancellation of leave, are accumulated by the employee. This ceiling would however concern “at most around 5% of the mobilized workforce”estimates the RATP.

On average, the 30,000 Régie agents who will work during the Games (including station agents, maintenance workers, bus drivers, etc.) will receive a bonus of 1,000 euros, recalls the RATP. The transport offer must be increased by 15% during the Olympic Games period (July 26 to August 11) compared to a normal summer and by 30% on weekends, in order to meet demand. Every day, 19,000 RATP agents will be mobilized. Negotiations concerning SNCF agents are still ongoing. A call to strike on May 21 was launched by most local sections of Sud-Rail and the CGT-Cheminots in order to influence the discussions.
