Mayar Sharif qualifies for the second round of the Italian Open Tennis Championship

Mayar Sherif, the Egyptian tennis champion, qualified for the 64th second round of the Italian Open Masters, after defeating her Croatian counterpart, Petra Martic, in two sets, 6-2, 6-2, in the 128th first round match that was held today, Wednesday.

 

The Egyptian tennis player Mayar Sharif, ranked No. 80 in the world, succeeded in eliminating her Croatian counterpart, ranked No. 81 in the world, to qualify for the round of 64 to face Italian Jasmine Paolini, ranked No. 12 in the world.

The tournament will be held in the Italian capital, Rome, during the period from 6 to 19 May 2024.
