Hilal Al Marri: Dubai is a global destination for companies, hedge funds and capital
DUBAI, 1st May / WAM / His Excellency Hilal Saeed Al Marri, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Dubai Financial Market and Director-General of the Department of Economy and Tourism in Dubai, said that various financial sectors, including venture capital, private equity, and hedge funds, are looking to Dubai.
Al Marri spoke in a discussion session, during the launch of the activities of the second session of the Capital Markets Summit 2024, about the great prospects for growth in the financial sector in Dubai, pointing out that more family offices and more people are moving to Dubai and managing their wealth there.
He said: We have witnessed great momentum, and over the past 18 months, we have seen many companies decide to choose Dubai as their international hub and actually work from Dubai to the world, and since some of these companies have been here for many years, many of them decided to exit their local market for the first time.
He continued: We also saw many entrepreneurs and many founders who decided to start in Dubai or reside here.
He pointed out that Dubai will always remain an international city and contributes, through the policies that are developed, to enabling companies to grow globally, pointing out that Dubai is always thinking about moving forward to be the easiest place to do business.
Regarding the Dubai Economic Agenda D33, Al Marri said that after the Corona virus, the private sector and the public sector came together to think about where Dubai should be in 10 years, where we should be as a city and what the priorities should be, explaining that Dubai is always looking forward to… straight ahead.
He said: In Dubai, we always think about the next thing, and today within the global context, we find ourselves in a situation where trust has been built with the business community, pointing out that trust in Dubai has created a lot of momentum, and we look to the future by being an international center that we look to to see how we can Dubai to become one of the top three international centers by 2033.
He stressed the importance of the pillar of Dubai becoming the first center for talent in the world, saying: If the best talents want to live, work and innovate in Dubai, then we have the greatest opportunity to truly be a place for companies, founders and all types of companies can be successful, because it is clear that with the best talents They will do a good job.
