Washington announces rewards for information about North Korean IT workers

 The United States of America announced, today, Thursday, large financial rewards for obtaining information regarding information technology workers in North Korea.

It was stated on the official website of the US State Department that the rewards program is from The department’s Justice League, which is run by the Diplomatic Security Service, is offering a reward of up to $5 million for information leading to the disruption of the financial mechanisms of people involved in certain activities supporting North Korea.

The statement explained that these activities include money laundering that Supports the North Korean government or any senior official or person working for or on behalf of that government.

According to the statement, the US State Department is seeking information regarding information technology workers in North Korea who use certain aliases.

The US State Department pointed out that these people worked on a scheme that allowed them to obtain remote work with American companies in contravention of the sanctions imposed on North Korea, by using false identities belonging to more than 60 real American people, and this scheme achieved at least $6.8 million.
