The athletics team will participate in 3 Arab championships during 2024

Dubai, April 28 / WAM / The Athletics Federation announced the participation of the UAE national team in 3 Arab championships to empower emerging male and female players with skills and build their competitive capabilities.

The team is preparing to participate in the Under-20 Arab Championship in the Egyptian capital, Cairo, from May 7 to 11. The Under-23 Arab Championship will also be held in Cairo next July, followed by the Arab Junior Championship in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia next September.
Ali Hassan Ghazwan, Chairman of the National Teams and Referees Committee, said that the national team’s players, male and female, achieved many gains in the AFC U-20 Championship “Dubai 2024”, which concluded its activities yesterday in Dubai.
The Chairman of the National Teams Committee praised the advanced levels and the achievement of many personal records by players Hassan Al-Dhahouri in the 100-meter race, Ahmed Al-Musabi in the 800-meter race, and Salem Al-Muqbali in the shot put, in addition to the brilliance of player Nasser Al-Kathiri in breaking the state record in the hammer throw of “53.91” metres. By achieving a new record for a distance of 54.25 metres.

He added, “The team’s roster included 7 male and female players born in 2007 and 2008, while the rest of the players from the other teams were born in 2005 and 2006, which gave them the opportunity to interact, gain experiences, and enhance their acquired abilities before future participations.”
