Planning holds a training workshop for its cadres to learn about the National Human Rights Strategy

 The head of the Human Rights Unit at the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development, Dr. Muhammad Alaa, affirmed the Ministry’s keenness and interest in the field of human rights, especially with regard to including human rights standards in investment spending and economic and social development, in a way that enhances the Ministry’s ability to work in harmony with the general direction of the state. To achieve the goals of the National Human Rights Strategy.

This came during a training workshop organized by the Ministry of Planning, represented by the Human Rights Unit, for the Ministry’s cadres concerned with the field of human rights, with the aim of identifying the National Human Rights Strategy and the roles assigned to the Ministry in achieving its goals. In cooperation with the Technical Secretariat of the Permanent Higher Committee for Human Rights at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

 

Dr. Muhammad Alaa, who ran the workshop, said, “The training program aims to raise the awareness of cadres from all sectors The Ministry adheres to the principles of human rights and builds their capabilities in order to produce data, reports and statistics that include the Ministry’s efforts in serving human rights issues, which effectively contributes to formulating more accurate reports on the state’s achievements towards achieving the goals of the National Human Rights Strategy, and following up on the achievements in this regard.

 

He praised the efforts of the work team of the Technical Secretariat of the Permanent Supreme Committee for Human Rights since the issuance of the National Human Rights Strategy, which expresses the state’s conviction and commitment to preserving and safeguarding human rights.

The training program for the workshop continues over three days, and combines a number of theoretical lectures and practical exercises on several topics, including learning about human rights concepts, terminology and principles, international human rights conventions, and national mechanisms for promoting and protecting human rights, And how to prepare reports to follow up on the implementation of the targeted results related to the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development in the strategy.
