Bees in the children’s room: ‘monsters’ in the little children’s room turn out to be a huge hive

A North Carolina family is living an almost incredible story.

Ashley Class and her family live in an old house in Charlotte. When Class’s little girl started complaining about the monsters in her bedroom, she thought it might have been her daughter’s imagination at work, sparked by a recent viewing of the 2001 animated film “Monsters.” Inc.”

“On a 100-year-old farm we’ve figured out every little thing that can happen. But this exceeded our expectations,” Class told “Good Morning America.”

The Classes soon discovered a much more complicated situation.

“We noticed a couple of bees when we were outside playing with the kids and then as the days went on we saw more and more and thought, ‘That’s a little strange,'” Class recalled.

The family hired beekeepers to help them find the source of the buzzing, but to no avail… until Curtis Collins intervened.

“I knew they were there. It’s just a matter of where they were making their hive,” said Collins, a beekeeper who has been doing home moves for six years.

Ashley Class shared a TikTok video after learning that her daughter’s complaints about “monsters” in her bedroom turned out to be tens of thousands of bees.

“I think it may actually be the first one I made that was floor-to-ceiling,” Collins said.

Ashley Class, who shared a tiktok video About the discovery, she said the hive looked “almost like a man on the wall because of its shape” and her husband Chris Class said the hive “took up the entire wall space.”

Classes said there were tens of thousands of bees living inside her daughter’s bedroom wall.

Since honey bees are endangered animals, exterminating them was not an option. Classes have now begun the long process of removing the bees from their house, a task that has forced their daughter to move into her brother’s room.

“It was really cool to be able to show our 3-year-old that these are the monsters you’ve been hearing about. You’re absolutely right,” Class said.
