Officially… Los Angeles announces the signing of Giroud on a free transfer
The Los Angeles Football Club announced today, Tuesday, its contract with French striker Olivier Giroud, in a free transfer deal, explaining that the player’s contract extends for a season, with the possibility of renewing for another season.
The American club said – in a statement on its website – that “Giroux is one of the greatest scorers of his generation, as he spent 18 years of brilliance in European stadiums. In Italy, England and France, with Montpellier, Arsenal, Chelsea and Milan, during which Giroud won 11 major trophies and scored nearly 300 goals while making more than 700 club appearances.
< p>In turn, the club’s executive director said that it is “a very exciting day for all Los Angeles fans, to welcome Olivier, his wife and his family to the club… Olivier has a clear thirst for victory, which he has done continuously throughout his career with the club and at the international level,” adding, “ His ambition in the tournament and his qualities as a man and as a player are directly aligned with our ambitions, so we believe that Olivier will be a great addition as we continue our pursuit of more achievements.”
Regarding his move to the American club, he said: Giroud is “happy and excited to join Los Angeles, I can’t wait to play in front of those great fans.”
