Urgent.. Madbouly: We received the second batch of the development deal "The head of wisdom"

Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly announced that Egypt had received from the Emirati side the value of the second installment of the “Ras El Hekma” deal, as the amount had already reached $14 billion, which contributed to pumping more dollar resources.

 

This came during Madbouly’s chairing, today, Wednesday, the weekly meeting of the Council, at the government headquarters in the New Administrative Capital, where a number of important work files were discussed and reviewed.

 

He indicated the start of cooperation with the Emirati side in the procedures for waiving the value of an Emirati dollar deposit worth $6 billion, provided that its value is converted to its equivalent in Egyptian pounds, in accordance with what was agreed upon in the investment partnership agreement for the development of the city of Ras al-Hikma between the two countries.

 

The Prime Minister explained – during the meeting – that the economic indicators are going very well, but the most important and challenging thing is to continue this approach, and what the state has decided to set a ceiling on public spending, make room for the private sector, and pay attention to the sectors of industry, agriculture, communications, and tourism within the state’s plan for reform. In the same context, Dr. Mustafa Madbouly indicated during the meeting that he communicates periodically and continuously with Hassan Abdullah, Governor of the Central Bank. The Prime Minister touched on Egypt’s clear position on these events, pointing to the intense activity witnessed this week by President Sisi at the external level, which included the President’s reception of Dr. Bishr Al-Khasawneh, Prime Minister and Minister of Defense of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, where support for And enhancing aspects of joint cooperation in various fields within the framework of the close historical relations that bind Cairo and Amman, as well as the situation in the Gaza Strip, which is going through a very delicate stage with the continuation of Israeli operations in the Palestinian Rafah, where the complete rejection and warning of the catastrophic humanitarian effects of these operations was emphasized.

 

The Prime Minister pointed out that President Sisi received a phone call from the Secretary-General of the United Nations, António Guterres, where the call reviewed the latest developments in the situation in the Gaza Strip at various levels, as well as the intense Egyptian efforts to reach a ceasefire and a truce agreement in the Strip. The call also included Warning of the massive humanitarian consequences of military operations in the Palestinian Rafah, and emphasizing the necessity of working to guarantee the right of the Palestinian people to self-determination through recognition of an independent, sovereign Palestinian state.

 

The Prime Minister moved on to talk about President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi inaugurating the renovation work on the Sayyida Zainab Mosque, accompanied by the Sultan of the Bohra sect and the princes, including the Sultan’s brothers and sons, pointing out the important messages contained in the President’s speech, which included the existence of a large plan to develop the mosques of the Prophet’s family and the shrines of the Companions and the Righteous, with compensation to the owners. In this regard, Dr. Mostafa Madbouly thanked the Ministry of Endowments, the Engineering Authority of the Armed Forces, and Cairo Governorate, for the efforts made to restore and develop the Al-Bayt mosques and the surrounding areas, whether the Imam Hussein Mosque or the Sayyida Nafisa Mosque, and finally the Sayyida Zainab Mosque, indicating that there is interest With the development of historic Cairo in general, and continuous follow-up.

 

In a related context, the Prime Minister referred to the inauguration by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi of the first phase of the industrial zone with the projects of the Egypt Future Agency for Sustainable Development in the New Delta and the start of the 2024 harvest season, and the important messages included in his interventions that stressed the importance of the project and its working mechanisms, as it is the locomotive of Egypt.

 

Dr. Mostafa Madbouly explained that there are directives from President Sisi to the government to daily follow up on this huge project, which is being implemented with the participation of a number of state agencies.
