Angola is looking forward to attracting UAE investments and strengthening cooperation relations

Abu Dhabi, 9 May / WAM / Dr. Manuel Francis Pedro, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Luanda-Bingo Special Economic Zone in Angola, confirmed that his country is looking forward to attracting Emirati investors and enhancing cooperation relations with the Emirates to broader horizons.

Manuel said in statements to the Emirates News Agency, WAM, on the sidelines of the activities of the third day of the AIM Investment Summit held in Abu Dhabi, that the UAE and Angola enjoy good political relations in light of the presence of many official visits, the most recent of which was the visit of His Excellency João Manuel Gonçalves Lourenço, President of the Republic of Angola. To the UAE last March.

Manuel stressed the importance of strengthening cooperation relations between the two countries in various fields, especially economic, commercial, investment and development, in a way that serves common interests and enhances the two countries’ vision towards development and sustainable prosperity, noting that there are many important memorandums of understanding signed between the UAE and Angola to enhance this cooperation in the future, including a memorandum to protect investment. between the two countries, and others related to double taxation.

He added that the cooperation relations between the two countries are moving towards further development and growth, and we will also do more business in many sectors such as industry, education, health, and e-commerce.

He stressed the importance of participating in the AIM Investment Summit in Abu Dhabi as a platform for cooperation in the field of investment and business, especially as it brings together an elite group of officials, investors and stakeholders to discuss ways to attract and promote investments.

He pointed out that his country is replete with many investment opportunities in various sectors, most notably the pharmaceutical, food, and agricultural industries, and therefore we hope that investors from the UAE will come to our country to invest in these sectors.

He said that the Luanda-Bengo Special Economic Zone in Angola already includes many investors from the Emirates, while we continue to search for different ways to do other business, as we are discussing with some Emirati companies how we can work in the logistical aspect, as the Emirates has great experience in this field.
